Comparison  GP3 / F1 2000 / GPL,     i like it if you copy this and add your
own opinion....

Well I never played GPL, so maybe someone else can add his comments in here
concerning 'gpl'. Ofcourse it should be nice to copy this and give your own
comments on a scale from +  till  +++++

I think you should use the word "realism" as a criterium !!

+ = bad      +++++ = great

Isnt that what a newsgroup is about? Inform each other...

Think, this is a good way to let others see what the different opinions are.
So the overall results, makes it a bit more objective !! Always nice isnt
it?

I agree with some of those scores, but in my opinion-

-f1 2000 has less accurate circuits
-you've scored both games too high for physics, but the ratio is about right
-the colours in GP3 more closely match the real sport
-the pitcrew in both games look terrible
-the engine note is way too high in both games
-laptime reality isn't there in either game
-f1 2000 needs either patching, or half the details turned off to get
acceptable frame rates
-GP3 has better AI out of the box, but both games feature way too many
crashes

I don't think it's worth putting my GPL scores here, but needless to say it
would be ahead of both games in quite a few areas.  It's all just opinions
though... :)

VERY true

right

A matter of taste more than anything.

True

TOO true

The egine note in both games is about right.  12 - 16,000 rpm doesn't tend
to sound like GPL! Take a listen to in-car footage at this weekends German
GP (Pedro de la Rossa's car has one that's fed into the normal (non-digital)
feed)

True

VERY VERY VERY True.
..

GP3 hasn't been to bad, I've found. If there are crashes, they tend to be my
fault.  F12000 AI is utterly moronic. How it could be released with AI cars
being unable to driver round a damn track without falling off is a greater
sin than anything GP3 has failed to do.

Of course, just opinions.

Glad to hear you agree generally.  Just on the engine note, ex-F1 driver
Martin Brundle now works on UK tv channel ITV commentating on F1, and he
once commented that he was surprised at how high-pitched the car engines
sounded from the on-board cameras.  He said that from inside the***pit
with the helmet on the engine sound was actually quite deep.  I suppose the
padding in the helmet could be working as a filter.
Anyway, that's what I was basing that comment on.  :)

Somebody else noticed

I find it unbelievable that GP3 is getting all this criticism and
being compared to a game that when released THE AI COULD NOT GET
AROUND 3 OF THE ***Y TRACKS AAAAARRRGGGGHHHHHH
