GPL vs GP3 vs F12001 vs ?

by Tom Massun » Sat, 22 Dec 2001 08:44:12

I've just updated my computer to something more than a 200mhz pentium.. that
could only really run GP2.  I loved GP2, very hard to drive and very
realistic.  Excellent physics.  Couldn't tell much about the graphics given
my slow machine...

Anyhow, what do I buy now... I'm looking for:

- support for Windows XP
- excellent, realistic physics
- very nice graphics
- not arcade like at all....

Comments?

Thanks!

Tom

GPL is the best if you want to race online with other people. F12001 is also
an excellent sim. The multiplayer aspects are not as good but the sim is
very well done. I guess it depends on what you like to drive. I like the
tachs and meaty sound of the older cars. I have both of these titles.

Really it sounds like what you want is GPL.
Its probably the hardest of the sims to drive well and although it doesnt
have the fastest physics engine i think its got the best physics model. The
origional graphics in GPL arnt that good (being 3 years old)but its very
easy to download updates for all the cars and tracks to 2001 levels (oh and
there about 100 tracks out now for GPL).
And its also the least arcade like of any sim ever IMHO
