Cheap 3D cards part 2...

by Bret » Sat, 18 Mar 2000 04:00:00

After doing some research I thought I'd write again, this time letting you
know that my system is a Pentium 200.  This rules out all of the Voodoo3
cards previously mentioned because they need a PII or higher.  Does anyone
know of any 3D cards that will work for a PI that would work with GPW and
other sims?  Thanks in advance...and I apologize for not letting you know
my system specs before.  Thanks again! :)

I don't remember the previous posts, but a VooDoo 2 card should do the job.
Look around, you can probably find a used one cheap.  Get a PCI version, tack
it on behind whatever your primary video card is, and you should be away.  I
used to run a P166 with a Creative Graphics Blaster 3D and a V2 and it sure
made a difference.  If upgrading your mobo/processor is not an option, this is
the way I'd go.  Good luck.

Hypothetically, must a computer have a video card to run such games as N3,
GPL, ect. in rendition mode?  I see a lot of empty slots on the back of my
computer...(sorry, I'm computer stupid)  Thanks!
