Yes, because the bus speed is faster.  (66 or 100 as opposed to 33Mhz)  The
bus is also more direct, sorta.

I understand 3dfx doesnt use the AGP feature of using system memory for
textures, though, so for that much it doesn't matter in the case of Voodoo
cards.

With everything else going to PCI (sound cards, modems, fast NIC cards,
etc.) it makes sense to open up another PCI slot by using AGP for graphics,
anyway.

I just recently upgraded to a 3dfx Voodoo 3 integrated card ....PCI...and
removed my Diamond Viper 550 AGP card and Diamond Monster 3D II PCI card
....I haven't seen much difference.....Now I wonder If I should have looked
and held out for an AGP integrated card??

Is AGP better than PCI ?????

AGP is blablabla........ but when it comes to real world in game benchmarks
the performance is pretty much the same but that doesn't mean u should buy a
PCI card over an AGP one.

as all the textures are stored on local memory the difference between PCI &
AGP on the V3 is minimal and the V3 is considerably faster than the V2 so
the problem lies elswhere. Depends on your system spec.
