NASCAR Pro Calibration Prob....

by Brock Bolt » Sat, 16 Jan 1999 04:00:00

Just out of curiousity, has anyone here had problems with calibrating the
NASCAR Pro Wheel from Thrustmaster in Windows 95 when using seperate axes?
It's the strangest thing.....Turning to the left is ok, but I can put in
about 30 degrees of right lock from top dead center and the thing takes it
as FULL LEFT LOCK if I apply any further right lock.....and the brakes
don't even get recognized as being there.....I have no clue why this is,
and any attempts to remedy the situation have been....well.....unsucessful
to say the least.  Anyone had this problem?  Anyone SOLVED this
problem????  This is really wierd.....

Try this...

Go into your "Game Controllers" control panel, and instead of specifying
a Nascar Pro, specify it as a 2 axis 4 button stick. On the "Properties"
screen, check the rudder pedals checkbox. Make sure that the 3 position
base switch on the pedals is in the "separate" position.

Then hit the calibrate button. The wheel should calibrate on the
horizontal axis and the gas pedal on the vertical in the main box. The
brake pedal should calibrate in the red bar to the right. You may find
hat the gas pedal acts jumpy after calibration... if so, recalibrate,
only this time, move it thru it's full stroke but then hold it at half
throttle when you're prompted to "return the controls to center and hit
a button on your controller".

If this doesn't get it going, please reply here with some system
specifics... what speed processor you're running, and what sort of
gameport would be helpful for troubleshooting purposes.

Try using Thrustmaster's ProPanel applet instead of the Windows games
controllers applet.
