Problem with spotter in N4 with SB audigy

by James Lars » Mon, 19 Nov 2001 11:39:22

I just got a SB audigy sound card.  Was using SB Live.  Now in N4, I've lost
the spotter's voice.  I still get the engines and sound.  I have the spotter's
voice turned on in sound/options.

Thanks, James

Paul

You may want to get the latest drivers from Creative for the Audigy card,
especially if you are using Win XP.  If that doesn't fix your spotter
failure, turn off "3-d sound" in N4.

Turning off 3D sound fixed it!

The new drivers also will fix it and allow the use of 3D sounds again.
Creative released some crappy drivers for the Audigy, most troublesome card
they have ever made.

I once owned a SBLive card that locked up unless I used an older version of
software, but the Audigy has been nothing short of rock solid for me.
