Anyone get a SB Audigy Gamer to work with Game Voice?  I can't get past the
bogus error that my sound car can't play sounds.  The fix on the web site is
to install DX8, I have win XP and 8.1.

Thanks for any replies,

Hello,

I have also seen this on machines with the Audigy and XP here.
Hopefully Creative can get this fixed but I know better than to expect
good driver updates from them anymore.  Anyway the following fix was
taken off the Audigy FAQ site, hope this helps.

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices -> Audio
Tab -> Advanced Button -> Performance Tab.

Lower the Hardware acceleration to the notch just above "None". This
    will
fix all voice problems. However, it will disable your DirectSound3D, and
hence most of your EAX capabilities.

But once the test is done you can then slide the acceleration all the way back up and everything will work fine. You only need to lower it for the test.

Hi Sean,

If you have aVIA based motherboard, you should try this

http://www.networking.tzo.com/net/software/

Otherwise you have to reduce sound hardware acceleration to standard.

It solves my problemes with Gamevoice and GPL without reducing the sound
hardware
acceleration.

I hope it solves your problem too.

Cheers,

Uli
