Well, I put to rest my old Grand Prix 1 steering wheel and purchased a MSFF.
What a strange feeling having to actually use my feet for throttle and
brakes :)  Anyways, I can't seem to configure (in N3 and NL) the new wheel
to use the paddles for the shifting, and using the buttons for this are more
ackward than the paddles.  Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Oh yeah, the force feedback is very good, and it makes a real difference in
the game....

Use the profiler and map two keyboard buttons that aren't reserved in N3 or NL
to the paddles. In N3 choose the buttons you mapped for shifting.

This trick works with many old racing games, eg. GP2 and ICR2.

Hope this helps

Use the Nascar Racing 2 profile that comes with the wheel.

You need to assign the game controls to keyboard keys, and then set up a
profile in the SideWinder to assign those controls to buttons.

Yeah, it sucks :)

For example, in N3 I have upshift assigned to PgUp and downshift assigned to
PgDn.

Then, I created a profile in the SideWinder software that assigns the right
paddle to the PgUp key, and the left paddle to the PgDn key.

Repeat for each control you want to assign.

with the wheel? It may not suck so much if you read the instructions.
