It's fantastic
It's fantastic
I was thinking maybe some people were put off by the earlier betas which had
slightly dodgy physics??
I guess the release of lfs at about the same time is taking up people's time
atm. It is for me. And the IoM, and the Brab ;-)
I'll try netkar as soon as I can though.
Malc.
I add an IP, I see the server appear in the list. I connect.... no prob so
far...
But when I clickon 'race', I see myself in the pit or on the track with the
'syncing' message mid screen...
I know this is supposed to be normal and I know it should go away after a
couple of secs or even a minute,
but on my pc it doesn't...
And I'm not talking 1 server here... I've tried at least 20... with the same
result everytime...
Also interesting : on the left hand side there's a red bar... fully
topped...
I also know that you have to be careful when you run a firewall...
However I've opened port 6000 as it should be...
Any suggestions ?
Thx in advance guys...

Are there leagues for it? What is the TSW split axis compatability like?
How many tracks are in it? How many cars are in it? Are there many cars
close in speeds, or does everyone have to drive the same car to have a
competitive race? If not, I saw some info about skinning...if you get a
skin for your car, do other people online automatically download the skin
and see you driving a car with your paintjob? Looking through some
screenshots, I saw what looked to be street cars (fast, but still made for
the street). Is this a racing sim, or a fast cars on a race track sim (sort
of like those Ferrari clubs where the rich guys come to a track and drive
around in single file)? I trust the physics are good, what about system
requirements?
I'm sure I could find a lot of this stuff in various locations on the
internet, but I'd rather have an experienced racer help me out.
I look forward to the answers and am downloading the game just in case the
answers are good.

PS Hi Bruce!
1-Its free
2-No Installation, just unzip in a directory and run
3-Its free
5-Its free
oh yeah, the physics are pretty sweet too. I always forget about the cold
tires at the beginning and plough through the first corner.
If anyone hasn't tried it yet, it's well worth the download

Verdict: an update or two away from prime time.

I certainly commend Stefano's efforts, but there's nothing in 0.99
that makes me want to suddenly dedicate hours of my life being good at
it. I eagerly await version 1.0 but in the meantime I'd much rather
stick to sims that give me a convincing sensation of speed, grip, and
weight transfer, which I just don't get at all from netkar presently.
It's an incredible bit of coding and it's free but that's about as far
as I'm willing to go with praising it at this time.

Me too.
Highly commend all Kunos has doen so far,but it just feels wrong to me
