GPL realism & difficulty settings?

What is the difference between the novice, intermediate, pro & grand prix
races? Is it only that the opposition are faster or more consistent?

How are the realism settings different from each other? Obviously no damage
speaks for itself, but what is "novice damage"  supposed to mean?!

What differences between the settings have you noticed?
Please enlighten me with your experiences.

Have you read the GP manual? "Four Wheel Drift" - page 87.
As you progress from novice upwards, races get longer, and damage to
your car increases easier. The opposition times are determined by the
gpl_ai.ini file in your gpl directory (which can be modified by
editing the file).

Have you read the GPL manual? "Four Wheel Drift" - page 23, headed
"Whats the damage?"?

I was after something a bit more specific than what it says in the "Four
Wheel Drift" manual.

My copy must be different than yours as "What's the damage" is on page 24
and the brief reference to the classes is on page 88!
