question re ACT LABS Performance Pedals

by scott bana » Wed, 03 Mar 2004 05:48:18

I have a question about the ACT LABS performance pedals (w/ clutch).

I sim two footed, and have used CH rudders, old thrustmasters and currently
LWFF. Is there enough room w/  the ACT LABS system for two footed users? It
seems a bit cramped.

thanks,
sb

Yeah... I have no problem here either. I really like mine a lot! I think
dollar for dollar they are the best pedal set I know of. (Get some extra
springs though... ;) However I have never had the chance to try the pricier
pedal sets. I will say that my lap times at every circuit with out question
are quicker now than before I got 'em  >;)

Somewhere on this list there was a good work-a-round for modding the ActLabs
pedals to use a different style of spring. It looked good! I just can't seem
to find that link to pass it on to ya. Sorry...damn!

I like my performance pedals very much. I have had 3 different sets of
inexpensive pedals over the years and the performance pedals are great! I
have replaced springs more times than I can count. Here is a new spring and
modification instructions.

I just have such a hard time swallowing that they want $6 per spring to fix
a factory defect.

They actually supplied me springs free for quite a while. I also broke a
paddle shifter which they sent a replacement free. I don't think I would
agree there was a design flaw. More likely they learned to improve the
pedals from community feedback. Keep in mind these are very inexpensive
pedals compared to "real" pedals. I would agree at 6.00 a spring, it would
not take long to  reach the cost of a better set of pedals.
