Act-Labs Performance Pedals..

by Ped Xin » Sun, 04 Aug 2002 01:34:08

I'm interested in the Act-Labs performance pedals, but I've noticed that
over on the Act-Labs forums there are a lot of reports of them being pretty
frail.  People are saying it is not a question of if, but when you will
break them.

Can they be easily modified to be more durable?

If not, any suggestions on a good set of pedals with clutch?  I don't want
to buy another wheel/pedal combo, however.  I'm happy with my Logitech
Momo.  In fact I don't mind the pedals really, it's just that I want a
clutch.

Thanks.

I know TSW would wire their pedals in to the old LWFF. I'm not sure if they
are doing anything with the MOMO, but it might be worth a shot.

Act-Labs Performance Pedals..

jmho...

I have had a set of Act-Labs since last October and I love them.  Throttle is
fine, Brake pedal is GREAT and the base is wonderful.  The clutch, on the other
hand, for me, is useless.

I don't find I can get a "feel" for when I have the clutch slipping.  In fact,
it almost always feel like its analog and is either full on or off.

Plus, and I didn't think of this until after getting the pedals,  you really
can't stall the car in either GPL or NASCAR 2002, so the  anticipation of
starting line flubs and pitstall exits are non-exsitent.

Again, just my opinion...

One of the guys in one of my GPL leagues blew up on the grid.  Caused some
serious moments for the drivers behind him.  Stuff CAN happen on the grid...<g>

Or worse, as your sitting on the grid and you bring the rpms up and before the
flag is even up, you hear the motor mising and black smoke starting to roll out
the exhaust....

gotta love it...
