being a Brabham driver,I was thrilled to see that Alison had published
her Brabham setups. I've tried out most of them,and all I can say is that
they're great. I thought that my setups were pretty good,and I've come to
terms with the twitchyness of the Toad,but with Alisons' setups,the car is
rock steady. I did make some minor changes including different gearing that
suits my driving style better. But one thing that I did email Alison about
was the use of 4 clutches. Steve Smith stated that 1 or 2 clutches for the
Brabham is max. So I never really experimented much with them. But Alison
appears to have taken several issues with Steves setup philosophy,and so far
she is certainly right.
I always thought that with the right setup and right driver,the Brabham
would be competitive just about any where. And while I'm certainly not that
driver,my times are a lot better with here setups.
