N2 AND THRUSTMASTER MARKII FCS

by Don Huf » Sun, 17 Aug 1997 04:00:00

Hello all,

I am stuck. Using a Pentium 200MHz, 32 Megs of DRAM, I cannot get the
T2 joystick to calibrate in Nascar Racing II, whether I run N2 directly
from DOS or from WIN95.  The joystick calibrates fine in
WIN95/settings/joystick.  In N2, the game recognizes the buttons on the
joystick.  Only the X and Y axes remain inactive in N2.   I can play the
game only by using the keyboard for accel/decel, steering, etc; which
sucks.
ANY help out there from someone "who's been there"?

  Thanks in advance,

    Don

I am a little confused, are you trying to "fly" NASCAR (subject says
MARKII FCS)?  Anyway, the only thing I can think of at the moment is to
make sure you have patched N2 up to the latest patch level at
www.sierra.com

Hi Michael,

 Thanks for your reply.
I am using the Thrustmaster Mark II joystick.  The catchy marketing
name on it calls it a "FCS" for Flight Control System, I presume.  But
it is just a 4-button joystick.
I know it works with Nascar II, because my son runs the exact same
joystick in N2. But mine will not calibrate X and Y axes in N2.
If the foregoing stirs anything else in your mind, let me know.

 Thanks,
        Don

Are you using the WCS with the FCS, if you are make sure the red switch is
set to analog and the black to digital on the WCS.
Hope this helps.

Richie
