N2 Help with Thrustmaster GP1 and Yamaha OLP3-SAX Sound card

by Stenslan » Thu, 26 Feb 1998 04:00:00

I'm having trouble getting N2 to recognize the GP1 controler.  Within the
Win 95 control panel joystick setup, the steering wheel calibrates with out
any problem (custom, 2 axes, 4 buttons).  After starting N2 - Options I
can't get the N2 calibration program off the keyboard control.  I have setup
the N2 sound setup to soundblaster 16 stereo - address 220 - IRQ 5 and DMA
1.  The sound works fine.   No GP1 control at all.  Computer is pentium 166
MMX, 32 MB ram, N2 win95 install full setup.   Anybody have any ideas to
help me out?   Thanks

Can you get N2 to recognize the wheel in a pure DOS environment?

Here are a couple of things you may want to try:

1)  Get Thrustmaster's ProPanel applet and use it to select and
configure your device in Win95
ftp://208.129.210.78/pub/library/propanel.exe
Make sure your GP1 is device ID #1 (there is a preset GrandPrix 1
setting with ProPanel).

2)  Delete the following files in your NASCAR2 directory:
        calib.val
        controls.cfg
Then re-run N2.  The first thing you need to do is calibrate your
joysticks, then select controlling devices.
