Help with Thrustmaster GP1 wheel!!!!

by Kalle » Sat, 05 Jul 1997 04:00:00

I just bought the wheel (no need for adapter).  I calibrated it in Win95

custom - 2 axes - 4 buttons joystick.  Everything is fine, but when I
click on "test", the crosshairs are a bit under the center point (in the

calibrating-test square).

Pressing the right pedal moves the crosshairs right on the square top
and get back to the same point when I release it.  As a result, my
car/moto automatically brakes when I let go of the gaz pedal, without
even touching the brake pedal!   (the pedals that are behind the wheel)

Please help me, it's real annoying!  My acceleration also suffers from
this , because it's like I continously press the brake pedal... The
wheel is one week old...

Kal

BTW, how can we set it to work with CH Pro Pedals???

Your description of the the problem is hard to read, but it sounds like
the full range of your gas/brake is not linear.  Last time I saw this
problem was due to a improper joystick driver.  What are you pluging
your joystick into, (sound card, multi function card etc) and what is
the WIN95 driver called (brand name etc)

Instead of two axis, choose four, the instructions make the assumption
you are not using it with any extra devices

What happens if you calibrate the wheel AND simply let the 'crosshair'
be off center??? My T2 always calibrated that way until I got an ACM
gamecard installed on my system. It did work for me the other way and
that wasn't the reason I bought a gamecard.

Just a thought....

You need to get a Thrust Master ACM game card. Mine just failed after 5
years of excellent service and I never had that problem until I had to
use the SB16 game port. It's especially bad in Motor Racer :(

Hope this helps?
