thrustmaster GP1 steering wheel

does anyone use the GP1 steering wheel with nascar?  I have a T2, but i
read on the thrustmaster page that there are throttle and brake levers
on the GP1.  I'd like to know how this works for those of you that have
it.  Does it give better control?

thanks,

john

i just got the gp1 today. the throttle and brake are levers on the
steering wheel. you work them with your hands which takes up less space. i
personally find it easier to work with both hands than trying to brake with
one foot and hit the gas with the other, that just feels unnatural to me. i
haven't decided yet whether it was a good buy, but the hand levers seem to
work well and it was alot less expensive than the t2.

Without a T2 it's hard to really compare.

Using your fingers for gas/brake potentially give you finer control
because there are smaller muscles involved. I don't know about a T2, but
having the brake and gas on the same axis isn't optimum.

The angle (lock to lock) is about 180 degrees compared to 270 for a T2
and since you want to keep your hands on the wheel at all times, 180
degrees is about as much as you would want anyways.

The T2's that I've tried had less resistance near the center of thier
travel compared to my GP1 but that may have been because of usage.

Given a choice right now between a T2 and a GP1 if they were the exact
same price, I still think I'd go with a GP1.

I've been considering adding the CH pedals to the GP1 because of the
brake/gas can be on seperate axis.

I currently can compete with those I've raced against, and I'm the only
GP1 of the bunch. (atleast that I know of).
