nascar 4 geforce 3 question

right now I have a Geforce II Ti. I run N4 at 4x antialias with vsync on,
and get 19-24 fps. Now I have tried it with aa and vsync off, and can get
70+ fps, but I like the aa better (doesn't make my eyes water trying to look
at a curve up ahead). I'm thinking about getting a gf3 if it has
significantly higher fps while running aa and vsync. Can somebody with one
of these tell me what kind of improvement it would be?

At what res and what cpu do you have along with it?  Most agree that anything above 800x600 doesn't
really need aa or FSAA, and your fps will go way up.

anything above 800x600 doesn't

I run N4 at 1024x768 and I can see the jaggies quite clearly. In Nascar Heat
though at the same res the jaggies are not nearly as prominent. I would
think a GF3 using Quincunx method of FSAA should be able to run N4 at a
pretty decent frame rate at 1024x768.
Not 4x FSAA though.

athlon 1700 xp, running at 1024 x 768. On mine the higher resolution still
has some hellacious jaggies, but it only really bothers me cause I can't see
some of the curves clearly til I get right up on em. Don't get me wrong
though, I ain't ***ing. With the aa on 4x the game is still very playable
at around 20 fps, especially after trying to play it on a 400 mhz Celeron
with a 16mb PCI card.

Agreed. I can run my P3 1gig in Quincunx (is that a dirty word ?) at
1024x768 with good results. It does get boggy in spots when the action gets
furious or at spots on certain tracks, but its nothing a P4 1.5gig couldnt
cure
I just run it at 1024x768 without quincunx though. the slight jaginess
doesnt bother me. Using an Asus V8200 G3 for the record. Quincunx is also
the happy medium between 4xFSAA and plain ol rendering if i remember anyway.
