This one is peculiar. Never had it before with other programs.
F1 2000 will not run setup.exe, in fact it locks up the whole system, not
even a ctrl-alt-del will fix it.
I have a Piii/500, TNT and sound enough. I have no problems with GPL
(openGL) or SCGT.
I can see the F1-2000-cd and all files, I can setup DX from the CD if I want
to (not needed), I can read txt-files from CD but
as soon as I hit setup.exe everything locks up and the CD-drive seems to be
slow down (but still working).Nothing wrong with DVD/CD-player - I can setup
the sim on my works-PC.
Any ideas... someone... something ?
I have reinstalled Win 98 over old to no use.

Some games' copy protection schemes don't like certain CD/DVD drives.
This may be what is happening. I would suggest that you call
EA tech support and see if your drive is one of them.

hmmm... Sounds like some sort of CD-rom protection to me... If I remember
correctly Tomb Raider 3 from Eidos had a similair thing which caused
problems with DVD drives when installing. Eidos then supplied CD's without
the protection to those who contacted them with the problem. You can try to
put in a old cd-rom in your system and install it from that one... maybe
copying the whole cd to your HD and then run setup might work, not to sure
about that though...

hehe, There is no setup.exe on the CD. To install I had to run
Autorun.exe.
