Problem Installing F1 2000 V1.09 Patch

by DMZ » Fri, 30 Jun 2000 04:00:00

Hello,

I am getting a warning message 'There is no enough disk space available on
drive'.  The warning message comes early, there is no way around it, and I
have to use the Win98 close program module to close the setup program.

The message says it needs 13MB and has 0MB.  In fact it has 7+GB free.

HELP!!!

Thanks,

DMZ

I had no problems  here,
but i can't tell you why.........
The exe is now version 1.09

maybe a currupt downloaded file (which is unlikely because so many have
problems)

If  i catch a solution i'll post it here.

I'm just throwing darts at a board here, but could it have something to do
with HD partitions?

Just a thought - the install isn't pointing to the CD is it? This would
explain the "0 Mb available" message

I thought it might be pointing to the CD, but where?  I couldn't find any
setting in any text editiable file in the download, and their wasn't screen
presented where it could be changed.

DMZ,

Try cleaning out your c:\windows\temp directory......perhaps it is trying to
overwrite a setup.exe type file and cant (therefore thinking that it has no
disk space).

Hope this helps

Ashley

I had installed 1.06 and he no_cd patch. I Couldn't install patch 1.09, so I
uninstall f1_2000 re installed it and installed patch 1.09. So it is not the
hard drive configuration, it must be due to the 1.06 and no_cd patches.

Do you guys happen to have more than 4GB free on the partition where it is
installed?  Could be a programming error stemming from the fact that 4
billion is the largest integer you can represent using 32bits.  Try a
partion with less than 4GB of free space, or try to use up space so you have
less than 4GB free.

No way... If the programmers were caught by this then they
truly suck. Removing the crash FF effect to solve some
people's system crashes would be bad enough. This would
be simply intolerable.

The installation path entry for the game in the Windows registry is
missing/wrong. Reinstall the game before applying the patch.
(setupreg.exe does the same, but I can't tell you where to get it. :-)
