F1 2000 1.09 patch problems

Real sorry to harp on this but this doesnt make sense
I have tried patching with 1.09 right from version 1.04 and after the
1.06 patch and  and cant get 1.09 to work.
install wizard extracts files and then i go to setup screen. When i hit
next a warning popup says there is not enough space on drive.
It says "you have chosen to install 13 mb, your drive only has 375 mb of
room, Please free up space or change target location"
then when I click ok , warning wont close
almost makes me think patch is loaded with a trojan
anyone else experience this, I got it from blackhole
this is frustrating as hell

Defrag your HDD just before installing the patch - reboot and try to
install the patch. If it doesn`t work, re-install F1-2K to a different Dir
and try installing the new patch to the fresh F1-2K install. Btw, You
can also ask for help on the High Gear F1-2000 Forum... I`m sure
you`ll find someone  there who`s come across your prob and solved
it... as I think your problem is a common one.

All the best,
Lorne

Btw..... another poster gave some advice in another thread for
your same prob, and I strongly recommend you follow it if your
system has many programs running in the background after bootup.

"Try re-booting and then immediately shutting down all running processes
(using CTRL-ALT-DEL) except for Explorer and Systray before applying the
patch.  This usually works for me, when I encounter this type of problem."

All the best,
Lorne
