F1RS Patch 1.09 Problems

by Tim Deatherag » Fri, 19 Jun 1998 04:00:00

Like a good little sim ***,  I downloaded the F1 RS patch 1.09 and
now the game keeps bouncing back to the Win95 desktop with FIRS minimized on
the taskbar. I click on it then try to move on to race and it kicks back to
the desktop
everytime it changes screens !

I am pleading for Help from the F1RS gurus !

Thanks As always, Tim

I had the same problem when I first installed F1RS and it was because, like
you say, you have to be in 800 by 600.

Tim...
You MUST set your display settings to AT LEAST 16-bit hicolour and 800 x
600 resolution.

>It works fine for me in 1024 by 768.

That is because 800x600 is the minimum res. Many people have
had problems running 640x480, and this is most likely the case
here.

I should of said "at least" 800 by 600, not "just" 800 by 600.

It works !

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions ! I even tried 1024X768 settings
and it works great ! However..... this setting makes the print so small in
Outlook Express and my newsgroup reading than I will switch back and forth.
My 44 year old eyes just aint what they used to be !

Try going to the Display Properties and installing the large
fonts...

Try downloading a program called Powertoys. I can't remember where i got
it, maybe from MS but there is a little exe file calle QUICKRES, with this
u can change resolutions immediately without having to go to the Display
and rebooting all the time.
