F1 2000: not recomended until patch come

You need to keep in mind that EA/ISI needed to get this game out to
capitalize on the 2000 season.  I would imagine that the shelf life of a
modern F1 game is very short.  Which is why EA and Microprose have already
committed to sequels.  EA could either ship the game now and make alot of
money (while upsetting many people) or ship a finished product that no one
wants to buy because it's outdated.  I think that GP3 is going to suffer a
bit from this as well, but GP4 is scheduled for release this year too!

Since GPL was a niche product recreating the 1967 season, there was no rush
to get the game to market.  Using GPL as a base... maybe EA should have held
off releasing F1 2000 until 2021.  By then the game would be representation
of a "classic" era, and I might own the hardware that can get the FPS over
30.

BTW... As one who downloaded the warez version, I'd like to let all the
uptight individuals know that I no longer have it installed and am patiently
waiting for (1) a patch to be released and (2) better video card technology
to hit the market.

What! GP2 is still selling 3 years after release albeit at budget price.
Same with GPL and MGPRS2!

I've never seen GP2 in a store and wouldn't know where to go to buy it.  It
may be loved, but selling?  GPL is not modern nor were sales brisk.   I'd
like to see the sales figures for MGPRS, but I would imagine that after the
first two months sales have plummeted.

GP2 was / ?is? a HUGE seller. Remember it was released about
4 or 5 years ago. Actually, only recently have systems been available
that could run it smoothly at full detail, full field size with no
time-slowdown problems.

I still see gp2 in the stores along with ICR 1 and 2.  There's only realy 4
good sims out there (GP2, MGPR2/F1RS, GPL, and now F1 2000) and GP2 still runs
along with the newest ones.  What your saying is if someone want to buy their
first F1 sim the only one to chose from is F1 2000.  Good F1 racing sims have a
longer self life then any other software since there's so few of them.

I've heard the "million seller" figure thrown around.  Also, it seems to
still get rotated fairly quickly on the local shelves in Zurich, judging by
the changing boxes.
