I bought F1 2000 and I think the game is good. A lot of posts say don't buy
the game - but if you're after
an accessible FUN simulation its tops! Do not decide not to buy it based on
some of the negative posts,
if you're not sure, wait for the demo. By the way a lot of people have
knocked it for frame rate performance,
they are partially correct in that you need a superhuman pc to play the game
with all options on, BUT I get a
perfectly acceptable frame rate on my P2 450, 128 mb ram with a Voodoo2.
Seems smooth enough for me.
If you're annoyed like me of having to keep the cd in the drive while
playing the game I saw a patch on
www.gamecopyworld.com for no cd. You need to do a full install (custom).
Stop knocking the game. Its not perfect but its the best all-round F1 game
out there. I'm started to get a little
worried by the reports of people who have played GP3 (beta), who say the
game is actually very similar to GP2
(ie its more of an update). I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it is as
good as everyone hopes and not a
disappointment.
