Help! Rendition/ICR2 software

by Julie Coo » Thu, 14 Nov 1996 04:00:00

I think I've bugged Eric enough with this problem, so I'll throw it out
to the group at large. I installed the Intergraph Rendition 3D card on a
PB P133 system without any trouble. My problems started when I installed
the version of ICR2 that came with the card. ICR2 automatically wants to
use the mouse as a steering device. I've checked both the Intergraph
site and Sierra's site and from what I can tell, there was a version of
ICR2 that had this problem as there's a patch for this specific problem.
I've downloaded the patch and applied it, but I'm suppose to disable my
Mouse DOS drivers. Now if I can only figure out how to do that. Any
suggestions? I know, check the documentation, I'm looking for it :)

Has anyone else had this problem?

Mine runs with my mouse drivers loaded, but if that's what they say to
do you might as well try it.  If I remember correctly, you are shutting
down Win95 and restarting in MS-DOS mode to run ICR2, right?  Win95
uses the file DOSSTART.BAT to load the real-mode drivers needed in
MS-DOS.  It will be in your Windows directory.  Just right click on it
and choose EDIT from the pop-up menu.  Look for a line that makes
reference to your mouse (it will have msinput, mouse.exe, mouse.com in
it somewhere).  Either delete this line for REM it out.
