Rally Trophy preview & interview, again.. ;)

This time it's featured in Gamesdomain's special rallysim article series,
and again it seems the previewer liked it. Also included is an interview
which provides some tidbits about graphical levels and so forth. Good
reading.

From everything I've seen, it certainly seems like it will be a realistic
and fun sim with gorgeous graphics. Can't wait to try it for myself.

I also like this approach:

"GD: Do you regard other sims like Grand Prix Legends and Colin McRae Rally
2 as benchmarks to beat, in terms of physics and graphics?

BugBear: There is no comparison! :-)

Seriously, of course there is always intention to do things better than
others do, but we haven't used any particular games as direct benchmarks.
Rally Trophy will set new benchmarks for others."

Set your own very high standards and don't worry about the rest.

The perspective scenic background is quite nice! I truely hope that
the racing will match the scenery graphics? Only time will tell..eh??
Good Luck Thom_j.

Btw Ilari, This was a extremely interesting & profound comparison
in the article:
Up until 12th January, nobody had ever heard of Bugbear Entertainment, but
these days the name is mentioned around the Net with the same hushed and
revered tone normally reserved for Papyrus or the West Brothers. Why?
Because this small Helsinki-based group aims to do for PC rallying what
**Grand Prix Legends** once did for F1 sims.

Can't wait to throw myself down those cliffs!

I really hope the simulation models the driver's movement in the car.  It's
something really lacking from RC2k, the realistic feeling (that adds to the
immersion factor) of the G's.

Driver and co-driver are thrown around to some degree, and this means
your in-car view will be equally .. erm.. stirred and shaken. :)

This is second preview I've seen that mentions the Porsche 911.  But
in a JoWood forum the developers told us that the Porsche would not be
included.

Which is it?

Porsche and Hillman are both cars that seem to lurk in several previews and
articles. They were included in the original (read: old) design documents
but didn't make it into the final game. So no 911 or Imp.

Now you can regret all those money you spendt on NFS or Gran Tourismo! :-)))

Joke aside tho.... I could do without the Porsche...  but the Imp is a big
loss!

Sunbeam -> Rootes Group -> Talbot -> BL -> Rover ?

Could be, and yes, I'd love to give the Imp a go myself, but with a
Coventry Climax engine in it, the connection to old style F1 racing
would probably make me a GPL die hard in some people's eyes......:-)

The Rootes Group were bought out by Chrysler, and then later Chrysler
Europe was sold to Peugeot.
