There's a David Kaemmer interview link on the same page.
(http://www.racesimcentral.net/) It -hints- at what might be GPL2 (or
CART2) based on the GPL engine.

David, if you're reading this, GPL2...-YES PLEASE-! The early 70s, as
you and the interviewer mentioned, would be -fine-! CART2 would be
-fine-! GTL would be heaven, unless you're leaving that for the West
Bros. and the community. However, any racing sim, especially open wheel,
that wasn't NASCAR would be wonderful. Yes, GPL sales were
disappointing, but I'm sure you're aware of the impact your effort has
made on the racing sim community. Every magazine sim review uses GPL as
a benchmark that no-one has yet equaled.

My admittedly non-professionnal advice...be sure to include options to
make it easier for the casual gamer, but leave the option to turn all
aids off so that what remains is an updated GPL in all its heavenly
difficulty. It's been about two years since I bought GPL, and it just
gets better and better. Now that's the way a sim should be.

Thanks for that, and I await with baited breath your next effort. Who
knows, maybe N4 will even get me interested in NASCAR. GPL certainly
revived my interest (interest...?...it's an obsession now...) in F1,
something I hadn't paid attention to since puberty, sometime in the
Jurassic period. You can do that to me again any time.

OH, and according to the people who made TOCA 2 - GPL was only a fairlure
commercially because there wasn't a very big advertising campaign!!!

SO, if you're wondering why TOCA 2 and CMR are selling millions, and GPL,
ummm, didn't!! There's your answer

Early '70's? Didn't he say something about '76 or so? So that we could still
have the old Nurburgring. That'd be f***ing awesome!

Yeah, he mentioned that if he did another Legends game, he thought 76' would
be a perfect year.

What I find interesting, is that when he was asked about doing a modern F1
sim, he said he couldn't comment on that, and smiled (which to me indicates
that one is in the works).  He also said they had tested a high downforce
GPL model, and that the results were "very exciting".  So I think were in
for some interesting news after Nascar 4 is released.

Yes, you're correct. I knew it was '70 something. I didn't bother to refer back
as I figured those interested would read it for themselves. '76 would be fine
w/me...8^). Hmmm...can't think about that one too long, I'll have to change my
shirt. (wipes chin)

He indeed said somewhere, IIRC, that he definitely wanted to be able
to drive the 'Ring! :)))

from what ive readand heard through the vine of grapes it seems as though
Papyrus (or David Kaemmer at least) will be making a modern F1 sim after
N4...more power to him i say.....all the modern tracks, all the tracks fom
GPL, and all the tracks from N4......all playable between the sims....cool i
say.
