I hosted a pair of 25-26 car fields with only two cars warping (both
were on Modems). Otherwise no problems. 22 cars finished the first
race, 17 the second.

there's something for the "cable modem" racing series.  For every race
you're in, find out who has what kind of connection vs who is warping.
It would be interesting to find out physically if there really is a BIG
difference or not.

In this case I hosted from a cable, there were three T connections
(not sure if they were 1's or 3's) and only about 4 modems of which
two warped and the others didn't. Everyone else was pretty much a
cable or ISDN connection.  Yep, we asked when we figured out how many
people were on and NOT warping!

I guarantee you there is a difference.

I get _compliments_ at the end of some of the races I host :)

Very true.  The success or failure of a good online race right now is a
direct correlation many times to the quality and knowledge of the host.
