Lets see..Papyrus already said no to this as they didnt want to do a
half-assed job of it.....and considering the job they did with the physics
engine, it'd require more processor speed than we have currently. :0

My preference is for as many as possible of the famous and infamous tracks
of the era (the ones you listed are at the top of my list also). The rain
would be nice, too, but if forced to choose, I would choose tracks.

I'd like to start a 'brainstorm' on this newsgroup about a possible
addon for gpl. Just like papy did one for icr and nascar.
So maybe we can provide papy for some idea's for the future, so anyone
who's got a suggestion ? (realistic and NOT realistic)
let me start with the most obvious 2:
1. implementation of rain and of effects
2. new tracks: Clermont Ferrand, Brands Hatch, LeMans, Monza with
banking.

How about fully functional pit stops, with re-fueling and damage
repair etc. That could induce some good off-line league racing.
Cheers,
Ron
Please, Santa; I want.....Downforce! Big Shiny WINGS! My car keeps flying
into the woods, but it wouldn't if I could just bolt on some WINGS! You know
that's what all those poor ***s were screaming in '67. And look what
happened.
Steve B.
P.S. And a nice shift-something to restart races ala ICR2 without going
through the menus. That Bandini keeps taking me out.
Steve
Some stuff snipped
Personally, I'd love a Can-Am simulator. Since Bridgehampton has almost
certainly been turned into a golf course by now, my only chance to drive
'the Bridge' again is going to be in a sim. (Besides, a Can-Am simulator
would be like playing with the AFX Can-Am slot cars of my youth - from
the INSIDE!)

Wether effects would be cool, but that can wait. I'm having trouble
enough in good wether!
A little feature I'd like to see is adjustable rearview mirrors. In some
cars or on some tracks I'd like to turn them just a little too increase
my view.
Another thing I'm missing in GPL are record times for races. It only
keeps lap-records, but I think times for a complete race are more
interesting.
And finally I'd like to see even better physics, better graphics, etc.,
etc.... But this is just a matter of waiting for fast enough hardware.

Tracks and rain are good but I want new cars! Laudas ferrari or mclarn from
the seventys would probably be a bit less of a handfull than these 67
wingless logs :) I always loved those cars too sorta had a funky demented
speed feel to the look of them, like "this is what cars of the future will
look like" hheeheheheh

1. A way to limit # of players in a multi game
2. A way to boot players from a multi game
3. A way for the host to ping clients in a multi game
4. Programmable keystrokes for predefining messages, like "Pit Out",
5. More identifiable players..put their name over their heads like
in MotoCross madness, or their names on the sides of the cars, or
paintable/downloadable helmets (my preference)...or...??
All modes
1. Ability to adjust detail levels on the fly to maximize fps
2. Addition of a Blimp view in replays

How about concentrating on the internet multiplayer support.. like a
dedicated 'server' program, that could run in unix computers just as
a server for everyone to connect.. it could also be used to collect
cool statistics about the race.. number of passes / lap times for
everyone / more detailed end race report.. banning certain players
or ip's.. stuff like that.

Kemosabe no in tipi now. You leave'um message after little
smoke signal, and Kemosabe get back for pow-wow real fast.
What I like to see is using the same physics engine for another
series, like NASCAR or CART...Hee, wait a minute! They are already
doing that....
