We need a title for multi player play, on a LAN.
I a real sim guy but my friend prefers arcade.

Any ideas ?

If you leave-out the AI, then CART Precision Racing (CPR) might be
the best title (depends on who you ask, and where their bias lays),
although you didn't mention your system specs (or your friend's),
and CPR is a bit system dependent. Good amount of add-ons popping
up (tracks) makes it a keeper.

Although not a sim, MTM2 has the best online play, whether via LAN
or 'net...Great way to work out the stress!

F1RS would also be a good choice, but would perhaps satisfy *you*
more than your friend. Another that's sytem/card dependent (3Dfx
recommended).

Others to consider:

NASCAR 2 (old, but still an excellent choice...will last for years)
SODA (Rendition card highly recommended!! - fantastic online play)
TOCA (not sure if available in the states yet)
Q-RAQ Rally (may be hard to find)
