In n2003 I got Black flagged but when I weent into pitts I got caught
speeding again...damnit...heh...but when I went out to come around
again it said I was DQ'd for ignoring the BF...is that normal?

just picked this game up...its awesome for running in traffic...the
spotter is right on.  I use the adaptve speed control...i suppose
veterans of this game shun this aid.

Did you stop in your pits for the first black flag?  You usually get 3
laps to answer a BF.  So if you went in right away for the first BF, you
should have still had 3 laps for the 2nd.  I suspect you didn't clear the
penalty properly.

The flag could have been a stop/go or a drivethrough.  If it's one, and you do
the other, you won't clear it.  You need to understand what the spotter says,
but AFAIK he only says it ONCE... :-(

Yep this is the REAL pisser about the Black flags, that f'ing spotter will
keep telling you to come "in" but never reminds you as to was it stop, or
drive thru...  Can really make you mad, until you learn to listen to the
spotter when he gives the instructions...  Oh and by the way, you can clear
them on Yellow either, sometimes that can mess you up on getting it done in
time, I have heard.

Shhhh or you'll***off the *PFB* (Papy Fan Boys).  NR2003 is PERFECT and
is ALL we EVER need.  Say it again and again till youre indoctrinated
sufficiently, then you can come back and spew our propaganda like a good
little PFBjr ;)

Just to back myself up :-)

From the readme12.txt file

NASCAR? Racing 2003 Season PATCH README
1.2.0.1
09/02/03

PIT CREW:

* Pit crew will no longer wave pit sign when you are serving a drive-thru
penalty unless you pull into the pit stall area indicating that you actually
want to pit (note that the drive-thru penalty will NOT be cleared if you do
in fact stop for service).

You can clear it on a yellow?  I wasn't aware of that.  Every time I've heard
of one(or gotten one), the spotter says you can't.  I'll have to test various
BF-inducing situations.
As far as missing the initial instructions, all you usually hear is "Aw man -
they've given us the black flag!"  After that, you tend to tune out whatever
follows...<g>
I wish there was a way to get the spotter to repeat whatever he said last.  Or
repeat the last chat line.  Sometimes you miss those, and they might be
important.

Oh, cool!  Was that in the readme(that nobody reads), or do you just have that
much experience with black flags...? :-)

The black flag will show on the gear/speed indicator that shows the current
race conditions.  If it's black then you have a black flag.

I'm just wierd like that.  I read readme files.  I guess that is how a high
school drop out with a GED gets a job doing tier 2 DSL support helping phd's
and engineer's make their computers work  :-D
