Black Flag for being on the grass!!??

Hi, I just read the latest news about Gp2 that there will be a black flag
penalty if your car goes completely on the grass and i'm wondering...in real F1
it happens that the car just go offroad in no intention to shorcut a
chicane...it will certainly happens to everyone of us one time or another
during our learning process of this game!! Well, I thought the sandtrap were
there for those who wanted a fastest way to get a chicane but then it doesnt
look like it... Also from what had been written here we will not even drive our
car in the pit? These two things makes me wonder how close to the real thing
this game will really be... anyway lets just see what it will look like when
finally the game will be on our HD...

See you

This is only in qualifying, not in the race. This stops you getting a
faster lap and qualifying in pole position. However, in GP2 it seems
that cutting a chicane could be a risky business, i now know my F1 Cars
have wings, chocks away!!!

As for controlling the car in the pitlane, if you cannot it will be a
shame because pit stops are an integral part of GP racing and it would
be fun to control it on your own. Without Pit lane control we won't be
able to put other cars out of the race in the pit lane which I often
enjoy doing in ICR.

I thought Sand Traps in Real F1 meant to stop the car (as the name
'trap' suggests), so I wonder if GP2 stops the car as well if one is
stuck on the sand?

And sometimes cutting a chicane may be a forced error(e.g. in
overtaking by breaking too late), and I thought one will not be given a
penalty unless it is a deliberate attempt to cut the chicane.  I wonder
how GP2 can decide whether it was deliberate or not deliberate?

Does all of the above really matter.....If you=B4ve
been through the grass by misstake, youre lap time
would be so off that it coulnt bee a good lap.....the
black flag is only(as I understand it), there when youre
trying to make a "hotlap" in practice, to make sure
that you dont get any ideas about a "straighter line",
not in the race.

A computer simulation will always be a simulation, and of course
there will be features that doesnt exist in reality.(black flag
on grass etc).
This is to make the simulation as a whole unit, as realistic
as possible.

Happy racing!

You don't have full control in the pit lane in f1gp1.  You only have
limited control.  Try not steering when you enter the pits then m8.
