Is there a maximum time for a black flag?

I'm saying this because I was starting a race at Elkhart in last position
and I intentionally passed all of them at top speed while they were on the
pace lap. When the race started I didn't get a black flag until I crossed
the starting line. then I had to go all the way back and into the pits and
wait for them to run by before I was let go. it was like 2mins man!. I
though the black flag was only 10secs?

Passing under yellow is a black-flagged offense that requires that you
go to the back of the field.  That's why you were held.  You're
probably thinking about the pit-road speed limit black flag.
