Strange black flag at ICR2 Milwaukee

Strange black flag at ICR2 Milwaukee

I just tried to run my first race at Milwaukee and ran into all sorts of
black flag trouble - the first somewhat plausible, the second not.

I started on the pole in a default field of 27.  When the pace car slowed
down on the exit of turn 4 and dived towards the apron, I began
accelerating, only to receive a warning not to pass the pace car (I'll
have to look at the replay again, but I believe other cars also passed it
before the start/finish line).  Needless to say, I got the black flag
with the initial green.

This wasn't a blatant Scott Goodyear kind of jump, but one that seemed
perfectly reasonable to me.  Maybe I should've waited a few more seconds
for the green flag icon to appear, then floored it..any thoughts?

Anyway, my main confusion regards the second black flag I received.  As I
was slowing down in turn four to pit, I spun the car and quickly went
from first to 27th and last as the yellow came out.  Before I could even
get the car straighted out, the screen flashed "Stay behind Car #25" (in
26th place).

At no time did I actually pass Hiro - he passed ME as I was spinning.  At
first, I thought this was just a new feature of ICR2, simply warning me
not to pass under yellow as a general precaution.  The standings
consistently showed me in 27th place during the entire caution period,
and I never came close to passing anyone during those laps.  To my
chagrin and bewilderment, I got black-flagged again at the restart for
passing under yellow!

Can anyone explain this?
