...and the lamppost, and the haybales, and overlooking the construction site
of the coming Loews Hotel.
My problem is that I do not have enough car control yet to thread the needle
just out of the tunnel. I have to slow waaay down to make it at all. Jeez.
I hate that damn chicane after the tunnel, (you'd think they could give
us a little more clearance on those hay bails!) can't ever seem to do
that right! I think I'll go try it again later!

It is indeed a very difficult track but it is amazing when you get up to speed
and can race with the AI cars even for just a few laps.
Best move I ever made in GPL as a whole and especially Monaco was to go to
Alison Hine's (Eagle Woman) web site http://simracing.com/alison/gpl/ and get
her Honda Murasama setups http://simracing.com/alison/gpl/setups.htm .
Not the most charasmatic car but will here setups and get the new engine sounds
from Patricks' web site http://homepage.tinet.ie/~expatjen/patsound.htm it is
some experience.
Run the Honda with Alisons setup and just take it easy for a while. Use the
torque and avoid the top end power band for the majority of the lap and you
will soon be up to speed.
Enjoy

There's nothing wrong with that. It's often said that to go fast you sometimes
have to drive slow.

A popular quote went something like: "With the old chicane, you would
just have to aim the car to a certain spot, and pray. If you did
absolutely anything with the car you wouldn't make it."

The old chicane was (literally) a deathtrap, as it's (just) possible to
go straight through it at high speed - I believe Bandini was actually
killed there in the '67 GP.
That's why simracing was invented!
