Can't wait to see something like this in Driver, where you are the
director of your own replays!

Superb idea, and one which really annoys me in online racing!

That'd be nice, and being able to actually hear the revs reach their
maximum in these cars would also be fun.

What about them?  They didn't do pit stops per say in 1967...if you did
addon packs for 1970s racing then, yeah you would need a new code to handle
pit stops.

I go further and shift into reverse.  Then by flooring it, I can do a
quick 180* ;-)

Presumably you wouldn't want it to look *too* realistic when the car
lands on the driver's head!

Well, I suppose the wheels come off in realistic mode...

In what way were pit-stops not done per-se? Even looking only at the
Lotus team there were several succesful stops in '67 - for example
Hill's at Silverstone, then again Hill at the Nurburgring. Without
pitstops history would also have been deprived of Clark's stunning
Monza drive.

For online racing too they could be beneficial, allowing people to
choose between nursing a mildly damaged car and pitting, rather than
as at present choosing an undamageable car, the "penalty" of instant
Shift-R or the race being over.

Seems like a fair idea.

Cheers!

Actually it moves pretty accurately IMHO.

Try to change your default cam to the side-pod. It's cameras that were not
in the final release of GPL, so I don't remember what # they are.  It's a
camera placed about 2feet behind the driver to the right, at the same level
as his head.  You can clearly see how accurate the head physics are, in both
acceleration and braking, and into the turns.

Everything done by the 3d***pit somehow is from the head's accurate
physics, since the camera moves in the same way as the head in GPL. That's
why you see the***pit moves on the screen in-car.  So IMHO it's pretty
good :)>

I would add GPaL and  GSB into it.

Whilst pit stops were not a mandatory function until Ecclestone decided that
they should be so, they were actually a normal part of Grands Prix.
Fangios stunning victory at the 'Ring in the 250F Maserati occurred after a
pit stop and Clarks drive at Monza in 1967 are just two that immediately
come to mind.

Change the default view? There are only two views in GPL (not inc. the
replay).

You can force your favourite view, if that's what you meant?

This will not only blow an engine, but will also slow your car right
down, probably cause you to spin, AND you will only be able to do it
once before speeding up and doing it all over again.
