That's your opinion. Many people actually like POD, so apparently it
isn't the "worst arcade racer ever". You like Cruisin' USA better? You
like Megarace better? To each his own.
I've had lots of racers where I haven't played all the tracks. Nascar
for one. So I guess Nascar is the worst racing game ever then. Hey,
come to think of it, I haven't played all the tracks in Moto Racer
either! ;^)
For some reason the European version did have a hardbound manual.
Are you sure there were no README-files or anything?
Many people still love Monster Truck Madness and Nascar. Nascar is not
an "arcade racer", but I'd think that your requirement of "sense of
speed" applies to all racing games, including sims. Yes, I find the
sense of speed in POD better than in the original Nascar Racing by
Papyrus.
Seems to me you were playing a different game than I was. Do the cars
bounce off the walls like a pinball ball, or what do you mean? Didn't
see that myself in POD.
Have you tried real life mini cart racing (or whatever it is called)?
The handling of the POD cars resemble it a lot in my opinion.
For instance, you can try to take the corners in full speed, but that
may make your car spin, just like in POD. Or if another "car" hits you
from behind from an angle, you most probably spin, just like in POD.
And the sense of speed in POD is actually better than in real life mini
cart racing. ;^)
POD has both IMO. Try the***pit view.
