hello,

i have "tested" the new GTR2002 mod for 2 days now, and i like it even
better than Grandprix legends.

I.M.O. it is the best racingsim ever ! The cars all have their own behaviour
and i especially really like the vipers.
I never had that much fun driving against the A.I. as in this great mod !!

I can only say WoW !!. Those EA sports guys will be very impressed by this
"amateur" mod !

of course i want to thank the people of simbin who made it. You did a great
job !

Thanx !

Maybe EA should hire some of these "amateurs".   lol  It really shows the
potential of the ISI code. Its just to bad that the real programs can't do
it so well. OF course maybe they can, but the bosses won't let them.

I finally got it last night, and I a lot of fun with it myself. Its
defiantly "better" then GPL for me, but I'm not really into racing water
heaters.

ISI could really do with some input from the engineers on some real F1
teams.  I would love to see F1 2003 with proper aero, suspension, and
tire modelling, not to mention proper simulation of TC and LC.

Joining the 21st century and using GPS in their track designing would
be a plus too.

I'm not worried.  The only reason I do dabble in GPL is the tracks. I don't
like the modern tracks with all the stupid ***to slow the cars down.  At
least NASCAR uses restrictor plates instead of putting a chicane in the
tri-oval at Daytona.

That's the thing with companies.  Their employees are paid to do their
work.  They might not necessarily love what they're doing.  The SBDT
without a doubt love what they're doing.  Also companies like ISI have
deadlines put on by EA.  SBDT take as long as they want and no matter
how much we beg them to released it, they don't have to, we don't owe
SBDT anything.

Once SBDT gets hired and has deadlines and are part of the company
politics, it's over.  The work will suffer since they will now have to
meet deadlines and might have to skimp on things.

If it gets an online code as good as GPL's, it will be.  Until
then.......................<g>

True, but GTR2002 takes a big, big chunk out of GPL's reason for living. I
never thought I'd say this, but last Wednesday I went from driving GTR2002
(just getting a lap at eacht track to get a rank) to my weekly MARA-E race
and, upon leaving the pits in pratise, my Lotus felt "dead" in comparison.
From the most "alive" car in GPL to a fossil in one 278MB download. I did
get back into it enough to finish a close 2nd in the race, but the now
seemless online "thrill" is it's only lifeline at the moment.

The future for racing simulations just got a bit brighter.
