You guys are so damn funny. I don't race GPL because the kazoo type cars
don't interest me. It ain't got jack to do with what they look like. While
GPLEA has done some amazing work it still don't change the fact its still a
water heater lol.

The AI was IMO pretty good already in FIA GT v3... but yes, it has
improved.

Thought so, GPL chopped your*** off! ;)

But even if you don't like the cars of that era, surely you are
interested in the greatest circuits ever raced on, and the like of which
the world of motor racing with never see again? Or where there too many
right turns? ;)

Well when/if someone does a Trans Am Legends sim I'll be there, but hot
water heaters or pointy cars just are not my thing. The GTR 2002 is pretty
cool, but give me some old Stangs, Cudas and Camaros and that would hold my
interest. There was a mod awhile back for N3/NL that did basicly what I
wanted, but its rather dated now.

In your opinion, but not mine maybe, but. I didn't see Eldora or Knoxville
in GPL.  lol  I fall a sleep with all that follow the leader crap.

Dirt is for racing, Asphalt is for getting there.

wrote something like this:

Hmm... so cars with solid rear axles can actually be made to turn
around corners? <g>

.
One of the coolest short bits of racing video I have seen is an old Trans
Am shot with Parnelli Jones at Riverside.  He takes his Mustang thru the
esses, but rather than follow the twists he just straightlines thru the dust
to go off track and pass some cars.  How he got that slick shod monster back
ON the track is beyond me.  Truly a Zanardi like moment.

I wonder if there is any Trans AM video on the Web?

There was a Trans Am mod for F1 200x under development at BTWracing before
its demise... *sigh* I wonder what happened to all that work...

It's only follow the leader if you're slow, and every racecar except for
Formula Vee would be a water heater...

You can't convince me and the other 10 guys I raced with this morning,
online, seamlessly in GTR2002 of that!

The race I had last night - in which I got booted twice by the server, had
all my qualifying laps ruined with the 2s stutter when people join, and when
it WAS working - reported different session times for everyone convices me
otherwise. GTR2k2 is an absolute work of art.   ISI's net code is an
abomination.
