FF or not??????

by Marius Tharaldse » Wed, 30 Dec 1998 04:00:00

Hi all :-)
After searching the net and reading a lot of rewiews I decided to buy the
Logitech FF, since I live in Norway and unfornutately can't buy the Act labs
here...
Now... the logitech was sold out so I bought the Thrustmaster T2 with an
option to get my money back within 30 days..
Now I'm wondering... is the ff wheels any better than the non ff ones?
I think the T2 is very nice even dough it's an old controller...
It costs about the same as the logitech so what should I do?
Are the forces just annoying or does the driving experience get any better?

what to do??
thanks for your help
Marius.

FF or not??????

My opinion is that FF isnt much until its in your seat. When driving a car
you talk though the wheel
and the car talks back by moving (and you feel it through your seat).
And another opinion of mine is that ff technology is where Adlib soundcards
was when they started, there
still is a lot to do.

Hmmm... Maybe I'm wierd, but I actually feel more thru the wheel than
the seat.  I can feel my Daytona slipping into a corner at speed BEFORE the
wheels lose grip and before it's fed back to my seat. Maybe that's unique to
front wheel drive?  It's been years (well, 'cept my truck which has NO
acceleration) since I've driven a rear wheel drive car.  I use the wheel
extensively for feedback (that's why I like Chrysler's tight ratio steering,
GM's is too loose and I can't "feel" the road as well).
