Has anybody been able to get gpl running stable with the latest TNT
detonator drivers.
Half of the time GPL crashes when trying to join the track with an opengl
type error.

I have the demo running on detonator drivers, it seems to crash when I
switch from one damage setting to realistic after a session of practice...
but runs fine otherwise.

Are you using the latest TNT detonator drivers (v 1.76), the ones dated
3/31/99? With v 1.76 installed, I experienced the exact same problems
running GPL. I reinstalled the previous detonator drivers I downloaded from
NVIDIA (dated 1/29/99) and I have not had any problems running GPL. GPL
plays really well with high frame rate at resolutions up to 1024 X 768 and
with most graphic effects on. Of course, you need to the change rear-view
mirror setting in the Core.ini file as suggested.

I've had it running on my Hercules TNT with their dynamite based drivers
(version .59), but the framerate is kinda slow (around 20).  It was stable,
but the graphics are far inferior to the 3dfx graphics.  The only reason I
finally caved and got a voodoo2 was for GPL, and believe me it was worth it.
And with prices for V2s so cheap, you might want to consider it.  Not that
I'm a 3dfx fanatic now, but the game is much better looking with it.

Just my opinion, though.  :-)

It sounds like you didn't decrease refresh rate on mirrors. If you do,
GPL will get at least as fast as with a V2.
Also, I have played GPL with a Voodoo2 and TNT, and I definitely think
TNT looks better.
