VROC host attempt failed-had to try

by hime » Sat, 03 Apr 1999 04:00:00

Tried hosting on VROC on Friday night, but my connection just ain't up
to it.  To the many people who tried to join and kept getting booted, my
apologies, and thanks for your perseverance, at least now I know.

Problem is I live in Germany so if VROC doesn't show you a good ping, then
please don't join! European participants seemed to have less problems
though.....
Happy racing!

I have heard this too about the Euro's.  Our structure just basically sucks
over here.  I traced a route to about 30 minutes away from me on my internet
connection (I live in Eastern Pennsylvania).  The connection went to my ISP,
then went to Washington DC, then to New York City, stayed there for 2 hops,
then bounced around 2 more hops before coming back to where I was tracing
to.  I hear the system over in Europe is much cleaner and better.

You can use the tracert command from a DOS window to see the hops.
GPL Spy Boy also have a command included to see them
