VROC !st Host! 2nd Place :)

I dunno how it was for the other two guys, but my plain jain system, with
a 56K modem, just
hosted my first VROC race and it ran great.  Of course I had to turn a lot
of detail off to get
that solid 36fps but at least on my end, it was smooth as silk.
  Now the important stuff.
Mr. Ferrari ran off and hid the first two laps...3 seconds a lap.
Mr. Lotus Spun at the start and then went off at the Parabolica
(I think I changed lines to get out of his way and that may have
 confused him)
After giving up the 6 seconds in the first two laps, my Cooper held the
Ferrari even
for the rest of the short race.  I turned 3 laps under my previous
best...AND NO
I WON"T SAY HOW SLOW THAT IS :)
Green Lotus was 4 seconds faster than us other guys, but had to leave.
So, one race, 2nd place.  Seeya again!

Thanks for the interesting report! I hosted my first two races last
night at VROC at Mosport which is a track I like very much although I
suck at it, and sadly the first game crashed with two people
connected, and I'd like to take the opportunity to say sorry for
this, but then again what do expect of Windows-based games?

The second time it worked ok though and I had a good race with Patrick
Dailey, only the two of us, and he stomped me clear into the ground
(in spite of the fact I did my first ever sub 1:30 at that
track). Mosport is a fun track, so expect to see me hosting it more

with an internal ISDN card, but it worked ok for me, maybe the others
can comment on frame rate and/or possible warping.

Cheers,

Uwe
