F1 2001 - PC and PS2 - Tracks and sound question for those that have both

Well, After playing around with the PS2 version for a few days I'm VERY
impressed with EA and what they have done with this game. Very polished,
tight, excellent feel, great graphics, superb sound and very FUN to play and
race against the AI. I'm quite happy with the track layouts on the PS2 and
they are much improved over F1CS. My question for those that have both the
PC and PS2 versions is this. Are the tracks in both versions the same? I'm
really looking forward to the PC version and I'm curious if they improved
the tracks. Another thing, is the sound similar to the PS2, which I feel is
very good. The reason I ask is I've heard the games for each platforms were
developed separately (PC = ISI, PS2 = EA internal dev team).

Thanks!

I'd also like to know if ISI did both games.  I suspected the PS2 version
might not be ISI since it's a surprising departure from their loose control,
"mushy" physics and poor FF.  If it's ISI they've made quite a jump in
development capability.  I haven't liked any of their F1 games and thought
SCGT was weak as well.

SCGT is such sloppy coding it still runs choppy on my PIII 672 with a V5
5500.  As for the F1 games, I thought they all suffered from SCGT's
fundamental weakness of "mushy" physics: slow reacting cars that just don't
capture the energy and agility of super powered race cars.  They lack that
snap into the grove when you swing around a turn.  I really can't describe
it. It's just something you feel in games that have "it" (GPL for example).

Oh, I forgot to mention one more thing: a big part of my suspicion that ISI
didn't develop the PS2 game came from the lack of FF in the PC version of
2001 but very nice FF in the PS2 version.  In fact, far better FF than
anything ISI offered on the PC ever before.

ISI didn't work on the PS2 version. It was done by an EA internal
development team. If you look at the credits the only mention of Image Space
Inc. is in the special thanks section! It's too bad they couldn't have
shared some of their resourses. FF, REAL flag marshals and accurate track
layouts in the PS2 version immediately come to mind!
