Back in 94 when I was there last, it was a BMW M5 with a roll cage and a
professional driver, think it was Michael Martini at the time, the cost
was 75 DM for one lap, but that was divided among the 3 passengers...

Let's just say that the guy knew his stuff, and if you divide the 75 DM
with 22 km, the price was about the same as a normal TAXI ride here in
Norway :-)))

Not according to my reference material, Thorsten.  They (the sloped
sections) were designed as culverts, not as part of the intended road
surface.  That they were so used was simply due to drivers seeing that some
advantage could be obtained in negotiating the curve.

There you go....I should've read the most recent post before answering your
question because I would've seen that your brain had defrosted and that
you'd remembered the name yourself.

I MUST start reading these posts from the most recent!

I believe the layout it still the same, but some of the jumps have been
smoothened out a bit I think, although in the Renn Taxi we still got
airborne, I've not driven this course enough, neither in GPL nor in real
life, to answer that Q properly, but others in here have stated as much,
so if you know the layout from GPL, you ought to be able to find your
way around it :-)

Having said that, nothing, absolutely nothing, can prepare you for the
experience of running the Ring in a real car, I just hope that we will
see this track in a proper Touring Car sim some day, GPL is all well and
good and I love it's physics model, but it's not really my kind of
racing, I need doors and a roof...:-)

Three required reference magazines for lovers of historics:-
- MotorSport
- Thoroughbred & Classic Cars
- Classic & Sportscar

Add the often-excellent American "Vintage Motorsport" (wonderful series on
the Can Am and Trans Am) and the oldie is well cared for! :-)

Those that wait for something good...:-)

Sudkehre..if this is what some people refer to as the Sudschleife, then
that one has been closed since before WWII I think, maybe some of the
"locals" can fill us in here...

This place, http://www.born-free.net/, has lots of good info and links,
from the description of your friend, he'd fit right in with these guys

Sudschleife..is this what some people refer to as The South
Circuit?

It was a loop that joined the main circuit at the South Curve.
I believe you can see where it joins the main "North Circuit" in
GPL.

The combined North & South Circuits were used several times for
Grand prixs during the thirties, obviously because the Germans
didn't think 14 miles was long enough for one lap!
