I went from a GF2 64mb to a GF3 and say my opengl frame rates increase
greatly. Now I can run 1600x1200 full field and push 50fps
When you changed cards did you: (I assume you are running Win98SE)
(1) Boot to safe mode and make sure you are using only a VGA adapter.
Remove any display adapter and just install a basic vga adapter
(2) Boot normally and install the drivers (I am using 12.40) make sure that
if you are running in OPENGL modem that V-SYNC is turned off (in the
advanced options tab)
(3) Also reconfigure the graphics adapter in N4
I guess many other people will have suggestions so good luck.
Brad
I set it to VGA and uninstalled the old GF2Ultra drivers.
I was running D3d before 1600x1200 x16 with 4x AA and running around 30fps
and it looked great, now I have tried the same settings and fps down to
16fps. I tried the opengl and made sure vsync was off only 2x AA, fps
around 30 in a pack and 40 when the cars spread out but it just does not
look as good to me.
Guess, I'll just keep playing around with it, something has to be wrong.
Thanks
Eric
Thanks again

The GF3 may be "jiggered" enough to run better than your GF2 (assuming it
was not an ULTRA) 64mb......but you'll have no luck running it in D3D. Run
OpenGL.....and make sure visync is "disabled" after the new driver install.
Also, do not use any FSAA.......it kills your FPS...and its a crappy picture
(graphics-wise) anyway until Anistropic Filtering is enabled (future Nvidia
drivers probably).
