just set up my new pc which has an ATI  card on it. at the moment im running
D3D which seems okay. Will open gl be better for me and if so where is this
new patch located as ive looked around and cant seem to find it, although im
sure i found it on my old system

But D3D runs better than OGL on ati cards, you can try them both.

You can get 16-bit FSAA in D3D with the new Catalyst 3.0 video drivers
-- I don't believe it works in OpenGL.  So use D3D.

what drivers should i be using with my ATI (radeon 9000 64mb)card for best
results. it is new to me as i have always had voodoo before

There is a cat3 driver for the whole radeon series.  Just choose the right
one.
