GPL: Open GL Error

by Micro Graphi » Thu, 26 Aug 1999 04:00:00

I have a RIVA TNT2 card and the Open GL patch installed for GPL v1.
I'm getting a GPF in GLU32.dll (Microsofts OpenGL Utility Library DLL for
Win95). File is dated 8/24/96 and is Version 4.00

Does anyone have any clues?

thanks in advance.

Had two problems getting GPL to work with my "Ye Olde TNT1" STB Velocity
4400.

First "Gotcha" is that if you're running a 32 bit colour depth desktop GPL
sulks and refuses to start, make sure that your desktop is set to 16 bit
colour before trying to start GPL.

Second one is that some vendors OpenGL clients don't seem to work well with
GPL, (the STB ones for instance generate corrupt menu screens). Fix is (or
was for me) to switch to NVIDIA reference drivers downloadable from their
website (somehow I don't think we're going to be seeing too many new driver
releases for non 3dFX based cards from STB anymore...), which is a shame,
'cos it lost me my TV output...

If neither of these help then I give up, and you'll have to find somebody
who actually knows what he's talking about...

Mms.  I would try reinstalling the TNT2 cards drivers as you shouldn't be
using the Microsoft's OpenGL library at all, but rather the library for the
Riva TNT2 card.
