Why is it that Noonan is the only person who can create new tracks for GPL?
Seriously! :)

I think the Snetterton track will be great too, the screenshots look
very promising. But wouldn't it be great if creating tracks for GPL
would have been more easier, just like creating tracks for GP2?
If Papy isn't going to make any track addons for GPL, why not give us
some help with creating tracks? Surely they must have some kind of
track editor with which they made their tracks.
Even if they charge a huge amount of money for the editor, I'll buy it
immediately!

Andre....my good man...have you thought about the consequences of what
you are proposing here ??

That would mean that the i-net would be "flooded" with aftermarket add
on tracks for GPL, and N3 etc with the upcoming converter, can you
imagine what this would do for the sales of Papyrus' products ?

The horror of it all man, I mean, with the TPTCC and other patches, they
might even sell extra copies of N3 and NL in Europe <shrug>

Not to mention what it would do the god like status of Geoff Cra..err,
David Noonan, think about it...

Beers and cheers

Sorry Uncly Goy, I really didn't think when I wrote this. I didn't
realize the consequences it would bring when Papyrus would release a
track editor.
Papyrus: please forget all the stuff i said, please keep your games to
a very small adience, so you won't make too much of a profit. You
wouldn't want to please those Sierra people now would you?

Sorry again,
Andre

:)

New GPL tracks?

Can someone respond on the hours it took to make ?sterreichring? I am
wondering what it took and whether or not labor could be contracted
out to various GPLers that have shown that they can do the work
without upseting the apple cart?

Oh God, please don't let that happen!
These add-ons ahve ruined all my other games by adding extra fun, options
and realism!!!

No, please don't let GPL  be destroyed like this too!!!

I feel the same way.

OF COURSE its wonderful Dave gives us these tracks, but why not share the
knowhow and let us all give it a try...
I got a massive amount of books and documentation about F1 since 1950.
And many video's as well.
I would LOVE to contribute...   for free :)

Can't inform you on how long Dave took on ostrich-ring, but I can tell
you I've been working since GPL was released with the sole purpose of
creating new tracks.  I/we(GPLEA) started Snetterton last summer and
it's nearly done, so I guess several hundred if not thousand hours of
work...  !   But that's from scratch, and not from a known base.  I'm
thinking that the next track we do will take significantly less time.

Again: WHY not share the info and the code????
Is this an attitude: "I had to search for months to find the code, so you
all have to do it yourself too"?

Sound totally silly to me.

We all LOVE GPL.
We all want new tracks, or improved tracks.

Whats wrong with that?
