GPL-3d card-what a difference!

Well, I tried and tried to enjoy GPL on my 200 Mhz/64 MB machine with no
3D card.  Tried, but didn't really succeed.  The choice between
reasonable speed and halfway decent graphics was too tough.  Turning off
the graphic options didn't give me the game I've been dying to play.

So I bought a Monster 3D II/12 MB.  Popped it in, set it up, and oh-my-
god-what-a-difference!  Yeah, I suppose that's a lot for one game, but
I'll certainly use it for others.

I've seen the light.  I wonder if this isn't the answer to many of the
framerate complaints.  It sure was for me.

I can 2nd that :) I tried gpl without an accelerator with my new pentium2
400 128 ram & it was great. Now with a monster3d 2 it's simply awesome. I
get frame rates of between 38 & 40 with all graphics & a full field set to
the max :)

Hi Bob,

Ya ain't alone... I have a 300 mHz PII w/48 MB, the demo felt right slow &
choppy to me, with only my car on the track.  Anticipating this game, I bought
the Monster 3D II/8 just for the game.  My god what a difference!!!! I now get
consistant 36 fps solo, and with a full field it runs 25-30,  sometimes
dropping to 18-20 in heavy traffic, or back up to 35-36 when nothing's in
sight.  And I've got all the detail maxed out :)  I'm in HEAVEN!!!!!!

You're gonna love this card.  I bet you got several games will take advantage
of it, & blow your mind.  I have F-18 Korea, which I had to play with flat
polygon rendering w/my Rage Pro card, looked like a cartoon, but when I popped
in that Monster, I suddenly had damn near photorealism.  My jaw was dropping.

Enjoy it, man.  I hope others who are having probs with fps will get one too,
so they can fully enjoy this awesome game!
